Stable Adjacent is a space for adult amateur equestrians who are navigating the complexities of real life while making the (ir)rational decision to care deeply about a thousand-pound animal. We have jobs, responsibilities, limited riding time, and just enough confidence to question everything after every ride or every horse care decision.
Maybe your horse has something going on and you have spent hours online getting more confused, not less. I’ve been exactly where you are…
Stable Adjacent was founded in Hampton Roads, Virginia by an adult amateur equestrian who has spent years navigating the specific kind of hard that horse ownership as an adult actually is.
My horses are Connor, Noah, and Willow — between them we have navigated more diagnoses, specialist opinions, and sleepless Google spirals than I care to count. I know what it feels like to know in your gut that something is not right with your horse but feel completely out of answers and unsure where to turn. I know what it feels like to get conflicting advice from everyone in your corner and wish there was just one person who could help you figure out where to start.
I also know what it feels like to move to a new area with horses and have absolutely no idea where to begin. No barn, no vet, no farrier, no community — just a horse in a strange place and a very long search ahead of you. That experience is exactly why the Horse Relocation Concierge exists.
Stable Adjacent is the resource I wished existed — a place to get honest, experienced guidance on your horse's care, find your people in a community that actually gets it, and land in a new place with everything already in place.
Not a vet. Not a trainer. Not a farrier. Not a professional bodyworker. Not a certified saddle fitter. An experienced adult amateur who has learned how to ask the right questions, how to advocate for her horses — and wants to help you do the same. This is a journey, not a destination. I'm still on it too.
